Mechanism of Operation

For instance, in solar water heating systems, a differential thermostat can monitor the temperature of the water in the storage tank and the temperature of the solar collectors. If the water in the collectors is significantly warmer than that in the tank, the thermostat activates the pump, allowing the hot water to circulate into the tank, thereby optimizing the heating process.
